    Port Description

    Under the umbrella of China Merchants Holdings International -the giant terminal operator in China, Western Shenzhen Port (CCT&SCT) nowadays has become a prominent transportation gateway for both international and domestic cargo owners and carriers seeking access to and out of the South China hinterland.     Port Description

    Guangzhou Port Group Co., Ltd. established on Feb. 26, 2004, is a wholly state-owned company. Approved by Guangzhou Municipal Government, it was reformed from the former Guangzhou Harbor Bureau in accordance with relevant Chinese laws on modern enterprise mechanism.

    Guangzhou Port Group Co., Ltd. covers business as: loading & discharging, storing, bonded warehousing for cargoes as containers, oil, coal, grain, chemical fertilizer, steel, ore, automobiles etc.; agencies for ships & cargoes from home and abroad, as well as for transshipment & passenger transportation; tuggage for domestic and foreign ships; waterway cargoes & passengers transportation; logistics services; and other relevant port business.

    As the largest comprehensive hub port in South China, Guangzhou Port Group possesses 49 berths, 13 buoys and 23 anchorages each of 10,000 tonnage-class and the largest capacity to be 300,000 tons. In 1999, Port of Guangzhou broke its annual throughput record of 100 million tons, to be the second port in Mainland China with such achievement. Afterwards, the port was making great progress year by year. In 2008, the whole Guangzhou Port accomplished 347 million tons(ranking the 4rd in mainland China) and 11 million TEUs, and Guangzhou Port Group alone reached 240 million tons and 8.655 million TEUs.

    Nansha Terminal of Guangzhou Port locates at Longxue Island in South Guangzhou city. It is the only deepwater container terminal on west PRD region. Taking Nansha Terminal as center, in radius of 100 km, it covers 14 dynamic city clusters including Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen etc. Guangzhou Nansha Terminal current has Phase I and Phase II, and totally possesses 10 container berths of 100,000 tonnage class with 3500m quay length. It has the most advance hardware and equipment with international shipping services to Europe, America, Middle East, Mediterranean Sea etc.

    With about 65 km2 area, Nansha has very abundant quay resources for continuous construction to adapt economy development.

    Nansha Terminal Phase I (NCT): is a joint venture invested by Guangzhou Port Group, CS Terminal and Guangzhou Nansha Assets Operation Company. NCT with 4 deepwater container berths was opened on 28th September, 2004. The terminal is 1400m long 1300m wide with water depth -15.5m. Businesses at NCT include container loading/discharging, stacking, warehousing agent, manufacture, processing, maintenance and etc. NCT is located at the center of the PRD, within a 100km radius covering all cities in the PRD.

    Nansha Terminal Phase II (GOCT): is a joint venture invested by Guangzhou Port Group, COSCO Pacific and APM Terminals. GOCT has 6 deepwater container berths with designed annual capacity of 6 million TEU and was opened on 29th Sep, 2007. The terminal has 2100m quay length with water depth -15.5m

    Port Description

    Da Chan Bay Terminal One is situated in the Western Shenzhen Port area in South China. It is a new container terminal serving the Pan-Pearl River Delta cargo catchment areas. Sixty-five percent of its shares are held by Modern Terminals Limited, the longest-established container terminal operator in Hong Kong. The other 35 percent of its shares have been taken up by Shenzhen Dachan Bay Port Investment and Development Co., Ltd., a company under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shenzhen Municipal Government.

    Da Chan Bay Terminal One is classified by Shenzhen Municipal Government as a major project. It covers an area of 112 hectares with 5 deep water berths along its quayside of 1,830 metres and 600 metres wide. The terminal commenced operation with its first three berths in late 2007 and 2008 respectively. The other two berths will be put into operation in 2009. Alongside depth is initially -15.5 metres and could be dredged up to -18 metres in the future, which is able to handle the world’s largest existing and planned container vessels.

    Strategically situated in Bao An District, Western Shenzhen, Da Chan Bay Terminal One is about 20 nautical miles north of Hong Kong, 40 nautical miles south of Guangzhou, and 10 kilometres south of Shenzhen Bao An International Airport.

    The terminal is within easy reach of the key manufacturing centres on the eastern side of the Pearl River Delta (PRD), such as Dongguan, Huizhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. At the same time, it enjoys convenient waterway links to the western side of the PRD, like Foshan, Shunde, Zhongshan and Zhuhai.

    Port Description

    The Port of Yantian, situated in the east of Shenzhen, borders on Shatoujiao to the west and Da Meisha and Xiao Mejsha to the east, facing Kowloon Peninsula of Hongkong across the sea. Such a nice location provides a convenient transportation both by land and by sea. Starting out from the Port, it is 10 Km to downtown Shenzhen, 13 Km to Fenling in Hongkong; 72 km to Huizhou and 180 km to Guangzhou. If going by sea, it is 53 nautical miles to Victoria Harbor in Hongkong. The Port has a wide water area, calm enough to serve as a nice natural shelter for ships and deep enough to berth large vessels. What's more, there is hardly any situation within the Bay. Richly endowed by the nature, Yantian Port is one of the natural ports in China.

    Port Description

    The Port of Xiamen is located in southeast China’s Fujian Province on the coast of Xiamen Island on an inlet of the Taiwan Straight. The Port of Xiamen has an excellent natural harbor protected by offshore islands. Known by many as the “Garden on the Sea,” the area has a warm humid subtropical climate. Recently, the Port of Xiamen was recognized as the People’s Republic of China’s second most livable city. In 2007, the metropolitan area was home to more than 2.5 million people.

    Many overseas Chinese call Xiamen their ancestral home, and the Port of Xiamen is one of the country’s first Special Economic Zones. Tourists will find many attractions in Xiamen, a city in a region of beautiful scenery and tree-lined beaches. It houses a national treasure from the Tang Dynasty, the Buddhist Nanputuo Temple. Since the 1980s, the Port of Xiamen has been open to foreign investment, which has created jobs, industries, and export opportunities for many companies. The city’s major economic activities include ship-building, tanning, textiles, chemical industries, manufacturing of machine tools, telecommunications, financial services, and fishing.
